VIETNAMESE AGRICULTURE MINISTER CALLS ON MYANMAR PM

NAY PYI TAW, March 9 (NNN-MNA) — Myanmar Prime Minister General Thein Sein has received a goodwill delegation led by Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Cao Duc Phat.

Also present aduring the call here Saturday were Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win and Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Chu Cong Phung.

The Vietnamese minister also held talks on Thursday with the Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation, Major-General Htay Oo regarding joint co-operation in the agricultural sector, development for Myanma agricultural sector, investment and economic co-operation.

The visiting minister, the Vietnamese Ambassador and delegation member Le Quang Thung explained co-operation on mutual investment in growing rubber and agriculture sector.

The goodwill delegation also met Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Brigadier-General Maung Maung Thein in the evening. They discussed on investment and co-operation in the livestock and fisheries sector.

In the afternoon, the guests visited Uppatasanti Pagoda and Myanma Gems Museum in Nay Pyi Taw. Maj-Gen Htay Oo hosted a dinner for the delegation in the evening.
